Building a Healthier Future with Clean Construction Practices
Do you ever wonder how much that black exhaust from a diesel engine really affects our air quality? This course will address the health impacts of diesel pollution, the diesel-climate change connection, and steps green building professionals can take to make their LEED projects even more environmentally sustainable by promoting clean construction practices. Participants will learn how to identify opportunities to reduce the potential health problems associated with both short and long-term exposure to diesel pollution. Participants will also gain an understaning of the immediate impact mitigating diesel pollution can have on climate change as well as the new standards put in place by the EPA. Case studies illustrating the successes of clean construction practices will be provided.
